Driving Assessments

Driving Assessment has two components, it includes a Off-Road valuation assessment which is conducted with the Occupational Therapist and this will take several hours. This may be conducted at your home or at the clinic depending on the circumstances of the individual.

Then when you pass the off road, you then need to take part in the On Road assessment and this is with a Disability Driving Instructor and the Occupational Therapist. This assessment takes minimum 1hour.This is where you can demonstrate the ability to drive safe on our roads.

Once both Off and On Road assessments are completed the Occupational Therapist and sometimes the Disability Instructor will discuss the results and the course of action that best suits the client. This report will provide you with information to determine whether or not you have the capability to drive safe and if modifications to your car or truck are required.

Once we determine if accessories are required , we train you to use them and guide you through to the assessment day.
